Swimming and Boating

The Capital Cove Cabin dock is the perfect place for you and your guests to take a swim in one of Minnesota's 10,000 lakes. Feel free to enjoy the water by walking in the lake or jumping in from the dock to refresh on a warm day. The water is a comfortable 5 feet deep for the safety of you and your children.

The dock is not guaranteed between Labor Day and Memorial Day due to freezing water temperatures.  

Several additional beaches, picnic areas, boat ramps and docks are accessible just minutes from Capital Cove Cabin. Lake Benton is the perfect location for a summer family vacation! 

Lake Benton, with 2800+ acres of water, gives you plenty of space to fish, water ski, tube or enjoy a scenic ride around the lake. Capital Cove Cabin is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, spend time with family or make a new friend on the water. 

Boat ramps are just minutes from Capital Cove Cabin and some include beaches and picnic areas. Ask us about pontoon rentals! 

Lake Benton Minnesota offers plenty of space to enjoy jet skiing while also staying safe. With 2800+ acres of water, take a tour around the lake or make some waves for your tubing friends.

When using your personal watercraft (boats, jet skis, etc), please be courteous to other boats tied to neighboring docks by idling in and out of the cove. 

With 2800+ acres of water, Minnesota's Lake Benton offers plenty of space for a tranquil early morning tour of the lake by kayak and canoe. 

The fishery of Lake Benton is spectacular and primarily managed for walleye and secondarily for northern pike, black crappie, bluegill and yellow perch. While the population is dominated by younger walleye, growth is good, which allows the size structure of the population to be in a balanced state.

From a boat or just off the dock, you will be sure to enjoy your fishing adventures on one of Minnesota's most beautiful lakes!
