Outdoor Activities at the Cabin

At Capital Cove Cabin, you will have access to a wide variety of outdoor games. Have fun playing with bean bag toss, horseshoes, ladder ball, bocce ball, croquet, volleyball, badminton, frisbee, football, beach toys, or try your luck on our shooting range.

Please feel free to ask about access to fishing poles, fishing equipment, life jackets, and other outdoor gear to make your Lake Benton, Minnesota vacation a blast!  

There are many locations to relax outdoors at Capital Cove Cabin in Lake Benton, Minnesota. Enjoy a nap in the hammock by the lake, or layout in the large backyard with a view of Lake Benton.

We also have many folding chairs and a new dock to sit on and enjoy the weather. You will feel refreshed after a Minnesota vacation to Lake Benton!   

Capital Cove Cabin provides your family with three fire pits, all situated for the perfect sunset view over the lake. Stocked with plenty of firewood, enjoy roasted s'mores and a chance to relax after a day of activities. 

After the sun goes down, the remote location provides an amazing view of the stars. If you prefer, tents are available to spend your entire evening near the cool breeze off the lake.

Lake Benton, with 2800+ acres of water, gives you plenty of space to swim, fish, water ski, tube, or enjoy a scenic ride around the lake. Feel free to enjoy the water by walking in the lake or jumping in from the dock to refresh on a warm day. The water is a comfortable 5 feet deep for the safety of you and your children.

The dock is not guaranteed between Labor Day and Memorial Day due to freezing water temperatures.  

The fishery of Lake Benton is spectacular and primarily managed for walleye and secondarily for northern pike, black crappie, bluegill, and yellow perch. While younger walleye dominates the population, growth is good, which allows the size structure of the population to be in a balanced state.

From a boat or just off the dock, you will be sure to enjoy your fishing adventures on one of Minnesota's most beautiful lakes!
