Our Southern Minnesota location provides you direct fishing access to Lake Benton's variety of fish. The area is also known for pheasants, turkey, deer and water fowl.
Fishing
The fishery of Lake Benton is spectacular and primarily managed for walleye and secondarily for northern pike, black crappie, bluegill and yellow perch. While the population is dominated by younger walleye, growth is good, which allows the size structure of the population to be in a balanced state.
From a boat or just off the dock, you will be sure to enjoy your fishing adventures on one of Minnesota's most beautiful lakes!

Ice Fishing
What a better way to spend a calm winter day in the outdoors than ice fishing on Lake Benton. The camaraderie found on the ice, from alerting nearby angler of an unseen flag or exchanging fishing tips, is just one aspect that make ice fishing so enjoyable.
Enjoy the winter day catching walleye, northern pike, black crappie, bluegill and yellow perch.

Hunting
Southwest Minnesota is known for pheasants, turkey, deer and water fowl. Thanks to the Minnesota DNR, Capital Cove Cabin is near many Wildlife Management Areas and Walk-In Access Sites. With the proper hunting license, these areas are open to public hunting.
